Mental Health Peer Policy Fellow, Mental Health America of Greater Houston

Position Summary: The Mental Health Peer Policy Fellowship is a two-year grant funded position (beginning July 1, 2024 and ending on June 30, 2026) that will play a pivotal role in supporting Mental Health America of Greater Houston’s focus on state-level efforts to enhance the mental health and well-being of children, youth, and families in Texas, and other areas of focus. The fellow will engage in advocacy and policy work aimed at fostering collaboration and effecting positive change within the mental health and substance use policy landscape. This position offers a unique opportunity for an individual with lived experience in navigating mental health and/or substance use services to contribute to policy development and advocacy initiatives.

Program Director, Recovery ATX

Position Summary: The Program Director supports all operations and services of the Recovery Support Services Program, supervises RSS staff, and services, and works closely with the Executive Director to support organizational programs and operations. The Program Director provides primary oversight for activities related to recovery support services delivery, community education, advocacy activities, data collection, and report generation. The Program Director is a member of the Quality Improvement Team and supports the Recovery Support Peer Specialist and interns in reaching their qualification hours.

Peer Support Specialist, Recovery ATX

Position Summary: The Peer Support Specialist will provide Peer Recovery Support Services acting as a mentor and guide for those at any of the stages of change. The peer specialist promotes recovery by supporting a peer to remove or minimize barriers, connect to the recovery community, and engage in self-directed services. This offers a unique opportunity to build relationships of equality, trust, and confidence in which a peer specialist values everyone’s beliefs and supports them in mapping out a self-directed journey.
