Community Connections will have a special guest in October. Pamela Goodine is the founder of The Journey Continues: Peers Supporting Peers and co-founder of the Forsyth Peer Support Development Group. Pamela currently works as a Peer Support Specialist through the Forsyth County Department of Public Health for the Stepping Up Initiative and works part-time at GreenTree Peer Center.
Pamela will be talking to us about how Peers can be implemented to help improve health and wellness of individuals living with mental health challenges. We’ll start with a presentation sharing the results of a joint research effort from PCORI (Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute) and iNAPS. It will be followed by a discussion about the challenges that have been experienced in implementing Peer services in your community, and talk about some strategies to overcome these challenges.
