Person Centered: Reimagining Planning and Partnership in Recovery

Person Centered: Reimagining Planning and Partnership in Recovery

Description

In this two-day “roll up your sleeves” workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of this evidence based practice – including the importance of hope, autonomy, and supporting the dignity of risk. Participants can expect small group discussions with professionals from around the country, scenario-based application of concepts, and practice plan writing. This session is geared toward anyone working in behavioral health care. While the workshop is rich in content, attendees should expect a highly participatory and experiential approach to learning.

Purpose and Audience

This workshop is designed for participants that work in a variety of roles within their organizations.  It will benefit individual participants as they explore the practice, rather than prepare them for full organizational implementation. Trainers are welcome, but the workshop is not designed as a training for trainers.

Learning Objectives

Upon completing this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the roles of a practitioner and a person receiving services in a person-centered planning process.
  • Distinguish between different types of plans in recovery-oriented behavioral healthcare (e.g. Person-Centered Plan, WRAP).
  • List the core components of a person-centered plan and the basic function each component serves.
  • Identify at least 2 actions to use person-centered practices within their roles at the organization where they work.

Continuing Education Credit:

11 Total CEU’s to peer professionals (e.g. MHPS, RSPS, PRS), and clinical professionals (e.g. Social Worker, LMFT, LPC)
