Job role and purpose: The Mental Health Programs Peer Specialist will work with TRLA’s clients with a diagnosis of serious mental illness.  The peer will help individuals to develop a self-determination based plan and psychiatric advance directive, which will form the foundation for legal and service advocacy. This will enable individuals to live the lives they want and need, meaningfully integrated into the community.

 

Required qualifications: 

  • Certified Peer Specialist
  • Resourcefulness, creativity, initiative and drive, tact and discretion

 

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Lived experience with involuntary hospitalization.
  • Live experience with psychosis.
