Healing-Centered De-Escalation

A CENTRALIZED TRAINING ACCOUNT IS REQUIRED TO REGISTER FOR THIS TRAINING.
Healing Centered De-escalation is a three-hour training that provides a better understanding of what someone may be experiencing (both physiologically and emotionally) during escalation and several techniques and tools to support escalated individuals in the process of coming back to self.
At the end of this training, participants should be able to:
- Increase confidence in ability to support someone in de-escalation
- Explore development of the soothing system as a foundation for support
- Reflect on the role of safety and connection in supporting de-escalation
- Consider ways that power and privilege may impede de-escalation
- Explore techniques to support de-escalation
- Understand the concepts of self-regulation and co-regulation
- Learn about the physiological process of escalation and de-escalation
- Understand the principles of a healing centered approach to de-escalation
Via Hope training content is provided via Zoom through an online learning platform. Participants will be required to have an active internet connection and be on camera for the majority of the training. Individual computer access is required; participants will not be able to log on in a group environment.
The Mental Health Resource of Texas dba Via Hope does not allow the use of AI (artificial intelligence) software to record Zoom, Microsoft Teams or any other virtual meeting platforms hosted by employees of the organization. Additionally, AI is strictly prohibited during any Via Hope facilitated training.
