WRAP® Across Texas
Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP®) was created in 1989 by Mary Ellen Copeland, PhD, a mental health consumer and educator, who studied people in recovery and observed the ways they helped themselves get well and stay well. Out of this came WRAP®, an individualized system of action steps created by Copeland. WRAP® facilitation utilizes a system of planned action strategies that help participants monitor and respond to mental health challenges and negative symptoms with the goal of achieving their highest level of wellness. WRAP® has been designated by SAMHSA as an evidence based practice.
WRAP® Across Texas is an initiative designed to increase the availability of WRAP® facilitations throughout Texas by training more individuals as WRAP facilitators. Via Hope partners with local organizations such as community mental health centers, consumer operated service providers, hospitals and advocacy organizations. Via Hope trains facilitators in exchange for these organizations agreeing to provide the ongoing organizational supports they need, such as meeting space, supplies, and access to people interested in developing a WRAP. If your organization is interested in participating in WRAP® Across Texas, click here and email the Via Hope Consumer Coordinator.
