Consumer-Operated Service Provider Institute
Consumer-Operated Service Providers (COSPs) are independent organizations operated and governed by individuals in recovery, and a fundamental component of COSP services is peer support. COSPs have a unique and valuable role in a recovery-oriented system of care. In an effort to strengthen the presence and impact of COSPs in Texas, Via Hope has been funded by the Texas Department of State Health Services to coordinate the COSP Institute.
The COSP Institute is designed to help leaders of Texas COSPs strengthen organizational capacities, engage in sustainability planning and build alliances through training, technical assistance and intentional networking.
Following are the COSPs that Via Hope is currently working with:
Participating COSPs – Agape Center, Advocates of Abilene, Austin Area Mental Health Consumers, Depression Connection, Prosumers International, River City Advocacy and Cherokee County Peer Support.
Partners - Texas Department of State Health Services, the Center for Social Work Research at The University of Texas, Texas Association of Nonprofit Organizations and leading figures in consumer-operated services work with Via Hope on the COSP Institute.
