I serve on the Board of Directors for the Texas Catalyst for Empowerment (TCE). TCE is a recently-formed statewide Texas consumer group whose goal is to empower all Texas consumers. TCE is sponsoring a Leadership Symposium to be held in Austin, August 8, 9 and 10th. The application deadline is June 24th, 2011. Scholarships are available for registration and travel costs.

The Leadership Symposium is a gathering of consumer leaders from throughout the state who are committed to creating a Texas in which ALL people with a history of mental health issues know that recovery is possible. It provides an opportunity for emerging leaders to unite and create strategies for the evolution and development of the Texas consumer movement. Our goal is for everyone to have the resources and support they need to recover and live the life they want. To ensure the Symposium's success, we are inviting all current and future consumer leaders across Texas to fill out the application to attend the Symposium. Please tell your local consumer groups and any other individuals you think may be interested about the Symposium.
